Recycling concrete and asphalt waste has become increasingly popular because of the cost and time savings it allows. And with the push to “go green” today, it just makes sense.

 

Surmeier & Surmeier began from an idea that formed in 1996. Recycling concrete seemed like a good idea, both from a business standpoint and on an environmental basis.

Advances in equipment made it possible for Surmeier & Surmeier to make this dream into a reality. The company started by being hired by companies that had stockpiled reclaimed concrete and asphalt. Surmeier & Surmeier brought in equipment that custom crushed the material into rock that is used as road bed material. Technology had made it possible to remove 99% of the metal from the used concrete.

 

Beginning in 1998 with just one crusher, Surmeier & Surmeier, Inc. has expanded its fleet to five portable plants. We now have three impact crushers, one jaw crusher and one cone crusher. Two of our impact crushers are closed circuit plants with 5’x 16’ double deck screens. Along with these machines, we also have three mobile screen plants.
